Dave Millspaugh

Design Director

Raised in upstate New York, Millspaugh's love of flowers and design began at a young age. Schooled in the arts of flower gardening and floral design by his gifted grandmothers, and party preperation by his mother, an appreciation was born for natural beauty and organized entertaining. Never would beauty be overpowered by contrived design or execution. The simplest arrangement of  elements is often the most beautiful says Millspaugh.

Millspaugh received a Bachelors of Fine Arts in sculpture from SUNY-Fredonia. He went on to complete study in sculpture at The Studio School and photography at The International Center of Photography, both in New York. His move in 1995 to Washington, D.C. prompted him to revive his passion for event design. Prior to being named design director of Design Flora, Millspaugh created his own design studios, served as event designer for Encore Decor in Silver Spring, Md.,worked for Floribunda, the florist at the Four Seasons Hotel in Washington, D.C. and was the founding floral designer of Ultra Violet Flowers in Georgetown.
